Overview
Khao Yai Escape (“we,” “us,” or “this site”) is an independent editorial website covering travel, stays, dining and culture in the Khao Yai region of Thailand. This policy explains what limited information we collect from visitors, how it is used, and the choices available to you. We are not a booking platform and do not process payments, and we keep the data we collect to the minimum needed to run the site and respond to enquiries.
Information We Collect
We collect information in a few limited ways:
- Contact enquiries. If you email us through the address listed on our Contact page, we receive whatever information you choose to include, such as your name, email address and message.
- Comments. If commenting is enabled on an article and you choose to leave a comment, we collect the content of the comment along with the name and email address you provide, plus technical details such as your IP address and browser identifier, which help us detect spam.
- Basic server and analytics data. Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically logs standard technical information (such as IP address, browser type and pages visited) for security and performance purposes. We do not use this information to identify individual visitors personally.
We do not require account creation, and we do not knowingly collect payment or financial information through this site.
Cookies
This site may use a small number of cookies needed for basic functionality, such as remembering display preferences or supporting security features. If we add analytics or other optional cookies in the future, we will update this policy and, where required, seek your consent before they are set.
Third-Party Services
Some elements of this site are loaded directly from third-party services rather than stored on our own server, which means those services may receive limited technical data (such as your IP address) when a page loads:
- Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com / fonts.gstatic.com), used to display the typefaces on this site.
- Unsplash (images.unsplash.com), a stock photography service we credit as the source of many images used across the site.
- WordPress and our hosting provider, which run the site itself.
Each of these services operates under its own privacy policy, which we encourage you to review if you have questions about how they handle data.
How We Use Information
We use the limited information described above to respond to enquiries, moderate comments and prevent spam or abuse, maintain the security and performance of the site, and understand in a general way how our content is used so we can improve it. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use visitor data for targeted advertising.
Sharing of Information
We do not share, rent or sell personal information to third parties for marketing purposes. Information may be shared only where necessary to operate the site, such as with our hosting provider, or where required by law.
Data Retention
We keep email correspondence and comment data only for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to your enquiry, maintain the site, or comply with legal obligations, after which it may be deleted.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or request deletion of personal information we hold about you. If you would like to make such a request, please contact us using the details on our Contact page and we will do our best to respond within a reasonable time. This is a general information section and not a substitute for advice on the specific data-protection laws that apply to you.
Children’s Privacy
This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as the site evolves. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date above.
